Swine & Co is a sexy new meat-eaters paradise which has opened in the CBD, writes Elizabeth Meryment
The venue is owned by restaurateur John Szangolies’ Urban Purveyor Group, which also has the Argyle Exchange in The Rocks (Sake, Ananas, The Cut) in its portfolio, and the professionalism you see at those venues is also on display here.
Staff are chipper, well attired and mostly on the ball, and the open kitchen gives the dark and broody dining room a heated vibe.
Chef Bobby Taylor (ex-The Winery) has compiled a masculine menu that’s geared towards the meat eater’s palate.
Entrees span the spectrum from pate with brioche and pickles ($16), to steak tartare with quail egg and truffle ($19) to fried lamb’s brains with beetroot and carrots ($15).
